Dear PAS Community,
On behalf of the PAS Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the selection of the 2022 PAS Program Chair-elect: Daniel Rauch, MD, FAAP, SFHM, Chief, Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine; Professor of Pediatrics, Tufts University Scholl of Medicine. Dr. Rauch will serve as PAS Program Chair-elect from July 2022 through June 2024 and will assume the role of Program Chair from July 2024 through June 2026.
Dr. Rauch has shown a tremendous commitment to the PAS Meeting participating in many roles since 1995. He has been a presenter at numerous invited science/scholarly, platform, workshop, club, and special interest group sessions. He has also served as a member of the PAS Program Committee, the Program Committee Leadership Team, the Diversity Equity, and Inclusion Task Force, the Strategic Growth Committee, and various other PAS workgroups. Dr. Rauch was instrumental in the expansion of the PAS Meeting to include pediatric hospital medicine filling an important programming
need in the community. Currently and through June 2023, Dr. Rauch serves on the PAS Board of Directors as the appointee of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
A recognized leader in academic pediatrics, Dr. Rauch is an active member of several academic pediatric societies including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Academic Pediatric Association, and the Society of Hospital
Medicine. His research interests are diverse, and his work has included clinical research, health services research, and medical education research. These investigatory efforts are marked by a consistent willingness to examine why things are done the way they are and a drive to find a way to do better. A ready collaborator and mentor, Dr. Rauch’s research routinely includes trainees, junior faculty, and colleagues from other institutions.
With a deep understanding of the challenges and strategic opportunities facing the academic pediatric community and pediatric resident and fellowship training programs, Dr. Rauch is uniquely positioned to help guide the future of the PAS Meeting as we continue to innovate, to evolve, and to advance the PAS vision to be the premier North American scholarly child health
meeting.
