The Society for Pediatric Research (SPR) is interested in better understanding how the COVID pandemic has impacted the landscape of pediatric research. We are asking members engaged in research prior to and/or during the COVID-19 pandemic to complete this anonymous, confidential survey, which should take no more than 10 minutes. This survey includes a section for you to provide a short narrative statement about how the lockdown, quarantine, lab closures and other aspects of the pandemic have influenced your research.
The Pediatric Policy Council -- representing SPR, the Academic Pediatric Association, the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairs and the American Pediatric Society – is endorsing the Research Investment to Spark the Economy (RISE) Act. The RISE Act would provide $25 billion to independent research institutions, public laboratories and universities throughout the country to continue work on federally-backed projects. The results of this survey will help legislators better understand how COVID has impacted pediatric research. This is essential to advocate for more research funding through the RISE Act. Responses will be shared with your specific Congressional Representatives (without attribution) and, in aggregate, with other offices crucial to shepherding this legislation through Congress.
The advocacy committee may use aggregated results in a Pediatric Policy Council Commentary published in Pediatric Research. The responses are confidential and anonymous. Completion of this survey indicates your willingness to report the aggregated results.
