On behalf of the PAS Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the selection of PAS Program Chair-elect, Ricardo A. Quiñonez, MD, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine - Texas Children's Hospital. Dr. Quiñonez will serve as PAS Program Chair-elect from July 2026 through June 2028 for the PAS 2027 and 2028 Meetings and will assume the role of Program Chair from July 2028 through June 2030 for the PAS 2029 (Chicago) and PAS 2030 (Phoenix) Meetings.
Dr. Quiñonez has shown a tremendous commitment to the PAS Meeting for 15 years and has participated in several roles – attendee, presenting author, and session moderator. In addition, Dr. Quiñonez has also served on the PAS Program Committee, which oversees and completes the PAS program review and selection process to form a PAS program. Dr. Quiñonez has been an active participant in national and international program planning, most notably as Chair of the tri-society-led Pediatric Hospital Medicine national meeting, and is an active member of multiple pediatric societies, including the AAP, APA, and APS.
Bringing over 20 years of leadership experience within high‑complexity academic medicine, Dr. Quiñonez serves as Division Head and Service Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital. Through his leadership of one of the nation’s largest pediatric hospital medicine divisions, he has developed a deep understanding of the operational and academic complexities facing today’s pediatric institutions. His experience balancing the needs of faculty, trainees, hospital administration, and national organizations reflects a strong capacity to unite diverse stakeholders around shared goals. A seasoned national leader through his roles as Chair of the AAP Section on Hospital Medicine and as a board member of both the APA and ABP, he brings the diplomatic skill needed to align strategic priorities across major pediatric bodies.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Quiñonez, the new PAS Program Chair-elect.
Sincerely,
Susan Bostwick, MD, MBA President, PAS Board of Directors
